Your Guide for places to go and some to avoid!!!

Favourite Pubs, Bars and Clubs
The Milford Arms
Gravity
The Sway
Onanon
Little Italy

And a couple of places we aint too keen on.
Break for the Border
Payal

We have been busy over the last couple of months and went dinning, clubbing and pubbing around London, and heres our favourite places...

The Milford Arms (Mili) has been a favourite pub of mine for a long time, maybe coz it is my local, and maybe also the fact that it is one of those non rowdy friendly pubs, where at least the barman/lady knows your drink. It's on London Road, in Isleworth near West Thames College usual opening hours and the booze aint expensive!!

The new addition to the decent chill out bars is a bar/diner called Gravity on the London Road in Isleworth, it is near the Mili and is one of the best lounges I have been to. Excellent bar staff, friendly atmosphere, and quite well priced, we liked it coz of that and the fact the leather sofas at the front are well cosy! Great range of funky cocktails, and nice chill out sounds, definatly one to look out for in the future.

The Sway is a classy joint, near Holburn and Convent Gardens, it is an excellent nightclub, with a good crowd, music on a Saturday is R&B flavour, with some retro stuff, a separate lounge and I believe a special room for private parties. It is pricey though, but then again, so are most clubs in the city. If you want a good boogie down in a classy joint this has to be the place!!!

Onanon, loadsa floors, rooms, bars, etc its plastered all over the promo flier, and believe it or not its funky too, different themes like a saloon bar, and a modern chill out lounge, a dance floor, etc. Good crowd happy crowd, and the bar staff again friendly (some are cute too!). The beauty of the rooms is that they have different music so you wander off to wherever you feel most happy or perfect if you wanna explore the place and check it out the hunnies (which there are plenty of!) Good range of booze, excellent cocktails, Again London prices for drinks but you can expect it being in the heart of the West End, just outside Piccadilly tube station, One thing that I noted on my visit was the cafe on the ground floor, which I saw as the perfect place to sober up.

Little Italy on Firth Street Soho, is a restaurant that becomes a mini boogie joint after the tables are cleared up. Ok here's the low down, it is small, its very pricey well the round I bought was considering one was just a cranberry juice! No real DJ I could see, but the atmosphere and buzz was good enough to drag me back again and again. I haven't eaten there but speaking to people who have, I haven't heard a bad thing about it. There is an entrance charge which is a bit cheeky of 3 quid around the 11pm mark, which is usually the time the table clear up.

So what about the joints we didnt like?

Break for the Border near Carnaby Street, is one of those non-all male group places, even if your other half is inside, very rude door staff, management is appalling no where does it state it is a couples or ladies only, defiantly one for the dustbin. From what the ladies who got in before us said, it wasn't all that and have had better nights watching Emerdale.....Ouch!

Payal in Ealing Road, Wembley was recommended to us as some sort of Mujra place. Having seen Muqader ke Sikander and Umrao Jaan, I was expecting something little like the movies, well reluctantly dragged into the place by a couple of mates, boy were we in for a disappointment! 2 quid each to walk in, and up the stairs we went, with Salami-Ishq going through my mind, then arrrrrrrrrrggggggghhh, what the F&#k??????????? It was a long lounge, with some pretty ladies in some punjabi suits, and gungeroo tied to the ankles walking up and down looking very bored indeed, the occasional smile our way. Oh dear why oh why did we have to follow the drivers hormones and end up here? The music band that was playing or attempting to play was excellent if you like listening to a rendition of fairground music! 3pints and a diet coke cost 11 quid, not good either, then on top of it you are meant to call one the girls over and give them a bit of cash for something (before you pervs get happy they don't get their kit off!). We didn't, nope no way I made sure of it. Those who did made sure the singer got the cash too even  though he was shite! Some dirty old men arrived a bit after us, who seemed to know what was going on so you would see a small bundle of notes being wafted in front of the dancers faces, scary thought came across our mind was the girls were young enough to be their daughters!!! Sick, cheesy (1970s decor), seedy. Never again!!!
