Angie Stone - Mahogany SoulAvailable on the following formats : CD and Tape CassetteSoul Heavan!!!!Never heard of her until I nabbed the CD from an ex-work colleague. I am glad I did nab it coz it's pretty good! So what is it all about and is it any good?The low down, is that Angie Stone is a soul stress who can hit those notes really well. The CD opens up with a has it's average tunes though but walk away thinking this album is worth a listen and another listen until it grows on you very strongly! this type of music is for those who have an acquired taste in soul ful music. I personally am not into R&B too much as there has been an overkill of it so this was refreshing and I have to put it in the same league as Erykah Badu's Mama's Gun, which incidentally is superb!! I like the mellow character of the tunes and even more the vocals. I am not going to review each song as I believe it is each to their own, and my choice in music may not be yours. I love the album and recommend it to those who like the chilled out soulful tunes. Go for it you know you want to............. Overall 8.5 out of 10
